A number of our and colleagues BlogEngine.NET sites have unusually seen some spam appear from a SEO Competition (Search Engine Optimization) group. This bunch of reprobates are running dollar-prize-based competitions for the web-site that can gain the highest ranking for a key phrase.
Thereby in the process filling our comment thread with nuisance rubbish. This is simply spam. They should be prevented from obtainined a web-address!
Via Dave Burke, Chris Blankenship has quickly developed a Blacklist Extension which you can just drop into the Extensions folder and bingo, immediately delete these Spam messages.
So, within a few minutes we’ve protected all our customers sites from this scourge, with a quick FTP upload. Excellent.
Note: we’re not going to be giving that site any extra Google hits only showing here an anonymous image of their logo.
Download the Extension from here.
This is the extension viewed within BlogEngine,NET Extensions. Note that the above Comment Author is automatically included and enabled.
