Ambay Software are providing CommunityServer development, hosting, CS theming and support for FEConnect, part of The Information Authority (theia.org.uk). This is a community for people working with data in education and training systems. Ambay Software have supported their migration from hosted CommunityServer to dedicated hosting including upgrade to CS2008.5 Service Pack 1.
Development
The client project required an extension of the user profile to allow a
member or new sign-up to specify subject areas of interest. An
Administrator-report provides a list of member email-addresses by
subject question. This can be pasted into a mailshot for distribution
of information, thereby distributing updates and information to only
genuinely interested members. An Administrator-only management form
allows the edit, delete or update of new subject areas onto the
Questionnaire.
The
Sign-Up and Member Questionnaire allows existing and new members to
register their interest for specialist subjects and areas of interest:
The
Administration & Maintenance interface means that The Information
Authority can manage and update their member Questionnaire without
developer support:
Group Development
Alongside the development of the Forum and Blog theme, FEConnect are
developing a Hub/Groups strategy for managing special interest groups.
Theming
The client required the development of a Theme identical to their core Information Authority
site. This includes a dynamically rotating series of banner photos
maintaining the theme style from their corporate site. Ambay Software
have developed a CS2008.5 SP1 compliant CS Theme cross-browser
compatible with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Flock, Safari and Chrome.
