CommunityServer Upgrade Issues

We suspect we're not alone with issues upgrading CommunityServer.

We've been running a number of attempted upgrades to move one of our customers from CommunityServer 2007.1 (Build: 21119.1142) to CommunityServer 2008.5 SP1 (Build: 31106.3070). Telligent Support has so far offered various shot-in-the-dark suggestions including executing intermediate upgrades and ad-hoc SQL scripts to get the upgrade program.

So far ... no success!

I guess the lesson we're learning is to keep an eye on upgrade releases and to hit them soon after their formal release by Telligent; of course hang-back a week to check if the upgrade is a complete turkey soon to be followed by an "update".

On the subject of upgrade we do try and stress the importance for customers to maintain their software assurance with Telligent. This provides access to new releases. Without software assurance customers are required to repurchase a new software license to obtain an upgrade.
